More police cameras will be installed across Singapore over the next few years, Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam told Parliament on Monday (Mar 1). About 90,000 are already set up in major public locations - HDB estates, neighbourhood centres and car parks - and have been a “game-changer”, helping to solve nearly 5,000 cases, he said. Mr Shanmugam said the Home Team is focused on transformation through increased use of technology. This will include the next generation of Smart Fire Stations, with the first one in Punggol.
