Reforms will be introduced to better manage community disputes after a “complex study” now underway, Second Minister for Law Edwin Tong told Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 2). He noted a reported rise in neighbourly nuisance over the past year. His ministry is looking at how disputes can be better managed and resolved upfront, increasing take-up of mediation and improving the Community Disputes Resolution Tribunal process. He also spoke about digital transformation of the litigation process and legal sector, and strengthening Singapore's position as a top global legal and dispute resolution hub.
