Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 5: Desmond Lee on streamlining HDB touchpoints, ensuring affordable public housing for Singaporeans

Buying a Housing and Development Board (HDB) flat will be made simpler, with an upgraded HDB flat portal. It will streamline eligibility checks and touchpoints into one online application. With the applicants’ permission, the feature will also enable back-end link-ups with other Government agencies to retrieve details needed for assessments. The Government is also making sure that more Singaporeans can afford public housing, including in prime areas. These are among the key initiatives outlined by National Development Minister Desmond Lee in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 4).
