Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 5: Henry Kwek on transformation in construction, carbon emissions

Despite improved work environments and more skill-based work, the construction sector has struggled to attract Singaporean workers, said MP Henry Kwek in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 4). This is just one of the many challenges the sector faces amid the industry's cyclical downturn. In working towards lower carbon emissions, Mr Kwek stressed the need to ensure the current Green Mark standards for buildings are able to capture the "big picture of sustainability", instead of acting as just a green checklist.
