Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 5: Yip Hon Weng on protecting Singapore's water supply

03:36 Min
While Singapore has been successful at closing its "water loop", MP Yip Hon Weng asked if measures to deter the dumping of toxic waste or prohibited substances into sewers would be made more stringent and harsher. Speaking in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 4), he also asked how increasing water demand would be tackled and if there are plans to further improve water efficiency. On using data to manage water usage, he asked if smart meters could produce daily readings, so consumers can better understand their water consumption patterns.
