Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 1: Chan Chun Sing on external attachments for Public Service officers
Starting this year, Public Service officers will be able to use up to 40 hours a year on external attachments with private, social and non-profit organisations. Revealing this in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 2), Education Minister and Minister-in-charge of the Public Service Chan Chun Sing said this will allow them to better understand those they are serving, and bring back ideas and connections. Mr Chan also outlined examples of how the Public Service has sought to make better use of its "finite" resources and streamline its activities.
