In 2021, close to 70 per cent of the nominal value added to Singapore's Gross Domestic Product was generated by the services industries, said MP Don Wee in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 3). He asked what measures were taken to boost growth in this sector and what is being done to stay ahead in the two biggest contributors - wholesale trade and finance and insurance. Meanwhile, with professional services and information and communications technology showing great potential, Mr Wee wanted to know what plans are in place to support local enterprise developments and attract international investments in these areas.
