In Parliament on Thursday (Mar 3), MP Murali Pillai spoke on the need to harness efficiencies from chatbots and new technologies to ensure that the provision of justice remains a lean and streamlined process. He also asked for an update on his proposal to simplify the probate and administration process. He said attention has to be paid to the demand for legal services and to ensure access to justice for all. He asked for a review of the means test to assess one's financial circumstances. He also requested for several other reviews to ensure that Singapore's laws are updated and made coherent with developments across the entire body of law.
