Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 3: Eric Chua on making the online world safer for all
Singaporeans are among the most digitally connected people on the planet, and this starts at a young age. Making the point in Parliament on Friday (Mar 4), MP Eric Chua raised concerns about online ills, specifically sexually explicit materials and gaming addiction. These are on top of problems such as cyberbullying, misinformation and extremism. Mr Chua asked what the Government’s strategy is to fight this and channel society’s attention to the relevant issues, and also what conversations are needed as a society and what role families and parents can play.
