Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 4: Mariam Jaafar on empowering local industry in the green transition
In the journey towards a green future in Singapore, local industry has to invest in the green transition, but may be hampered by uncertainty over costs, benefits and risks, said MP Mariam Jaafar in Parliament on Monday (Mar 7). She said the Government can lead the way with green public procurement, along with funding and incentives for innovation and R&D, making climate and sustainability data available, and creating relatable and inspiring public education campaigns to educate the public on the choices they make, including as consumers.
