Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 5: Sim Ann on tackling neighbourhood noise, facilitating group buys
To tackle a rise in complaints about noise from neighbours during the COVID-19 pandemic, a panel will be set up to define community guidelines on the issues which can be referenced during disputes or mediation. The panel will conduct public surveys to establish “community norms”. This was announced by Senior Minister of State for National Development Sim Ann in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 8). She also revealed that an Alliance for Action will be set up to explore ways to facilitate group buy activities in HDB estates. This will help residents cut delivery costs and enjoy discounts from suppliers. Ms Sim also gave details of enhancements to the OneService app, which allows users to submit feedback and access municipal services.
