Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 6: Gan Thiam Poh on illegally modified vehicles, cycling and road networks

01:25 Min

Illegally modified vehicles are a nuisance to residents and a menace to road users. They also put drivers, passengers and other road users at risk, said MP Gan Thiam Poh. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 9), he wanted to know how the Land Transport Authority (LTA) plans to address the issue. Noting that more Singaporeans have now taken up cycling, Mr Gan asked how the Ministry of Transport plans to make cycling safer for cyclists and pedestrians on pathways. He also wanted to know how LTA will leverage new technology or materials to effectively maintain its road networks.
