Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 6: Shahira Abdullah on Active Mobility Advisory Panel

01:22 Min

As Singapore moves towards becoming a car-lite society amid a cycling boom, there have been many cases of altercations recorded between motorists and cyclists. NMP Shahira Abdullah, who raised this concern in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 9), wanted to know the timeframe to roll out measures recommended by the Active Mobility Advisory Panel. She also wanted to know what the Ministry of Transport will be doing to step up public education on road safety for cyclists and motorists, and how it will ensure that errant parties will be dealt with.
