With more people learning and working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a rise in the number of community disputes and this puts further strain on first responders, said MP Derrick Goh in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 10). He wanted to know if more resources will go into ensuring effective dispute management, including training of first responders. He also asked if the Government would consider mandating mediation for community disputes.
