Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 7: Saktiandi Supaat on future-ready and competent Malay-Muslim workforce
There is a shortage of Malay workers in certain sectors, such as the finance, banking and growth sectors. MP Saktiandi Supaat, who highlighted this in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 10), pointed out that only 8.4 per cent of Malay workers have utilised their SkillsFuture credits between 2015 and 2020. He stressed the need to cultivate a culture of learning and upskilling in the Malay-Muslim community. He wanted to know how the Government plans to help the community become a competent future-ready workforce.
