Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 2: Denise Phua on preparing for crises
The war in Ukraine, the COVID-19 pandemic and the devastating earthquakes in Turkiye and Syria have shown the need for Singaporeans to be prepared adequately and in advance for emergencies, said MP Denise Phua. She said Singapore has not been, and will not be, spared from disruptions and is even more vulnerable as a small nation-state. Ms Phua asked what the Ministry of Defence is doing to better prepare Singaporeans for future crises. She spoke in Parliament on Monday (Feb 27).
