Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 2: Desmond Choo on military training facilities
In Parliament on Monday (Feb 27), MP Desmond Choo asked for updates on SAFTI City, the Singapore Armed Forces’ (SAF) new state-of-the-art urban training facility, whose construction was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. He said Singapore’s training facilities must be constantly refreshed to ensure they provide a realistic and relevant battlefield environment to keep up with evolving threats. Mr Choo also asked for a progress update on the development of the SAF’s expanded training area in Australia, which will ultimately be 10 times the size of Singapore.
