Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 2: Joan Pereira on Singapore's trade linkages with Latin America
In January 2023, Singapore signed the PA-Singapore Free Trade Agreement and PA-Singapore Joint Declaration at the 16th Pacific Alliance Summit in Colombia. In July last year, Singapore substantively concluded negotiations with Latin American countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. MP Joan Pereira, who highlighted these developments in Parliament on Monday (Feb 27), asked the Government to elaborate on how these agreements will benefit and help build trade between Singapore and Latin America. She also asked the Government for an update on Singapore's initiatives to engage Latin America.
