Given the limited land resources in Singapore, it is important that the state make the best use of what is available, said MP Lim Biow Chuan in Parliament on Monday (Feb 27). He asked what factors are considered by the Singapore Land Authority before it allows state land to be repurposed and rejuvenated for community use. Mr Lim also asked about the Digital Conveyancing Portal which is set to be completed in 2026. He asked what it will mean for the career prospects of conveyancing lawyers, clerks, agents and bankers, and whether the portal will make the conveyancing process easier or more complicated, as well as how to safeguard against fraud when e-payments are made.
