27:52 Min

Transforming the former Kampong Eunos Community Centre into a creative accelerator and innovation studio for youths, and expanding the Dempsey cluster into a sustainable lifestyle destination with more spaces for community bonding through sports - these are some ways in which the Singapore Land Authority will continue to rejuvenate state-owned properties. This was announced by Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Law Rahayu Mahzam in Parliament on Monday (Feb 27). She also elaborated on efforts to increase access to justice, support individuals navigating family justice processes, make enforcement of judgements cheaper and easier, and tap technology to enhance legal processes. She shared that the Public Defender’s Office, launched in December 2022, has had a smooth start. Thirteen public defenders have been hired as at end of January 2023. The office has received more than 250 applications, of which about half have been assessed and 60 have been deemed eligible for criminal defence aid.
