Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 2: Vikram Nair on legal aid services
The Legal Aid Bureau is an important pillar of access to justice, providing legal advice to those with lower income, said MP Vikram Nair in Parliament on Monday (Feb 27). He wanted to know if further improvements are planned for the bureau and how well its Divorce Aide service has been utilised since it was launched last year. Mr Nair also asked about the recently launched Public Defender’s Office, including the number of applications received and how many were provided with public defenders to represent them.
