Can the Singapore Armed Forces review the flying parameters of RSAF planes, involving timing, altitude, frequency and flight paths - for instance, the possibility of flying more over the less populated Lim Chu Kang area - to ensure “a more sustainable balance” between operational readiness and a tolerable level of noise for residents in western Singapore? MP Xie Yao Quan raised this question in Parliament on Monday (Feb 27). He said residents have given feedback about noise from RSAF jets flying too low, and too early or too late in the day, such that children are disturbed and it is impossible to work from home.
