The Ministry of Defence should strive to reduce the administrative burden on national servicemen (NSmen) where possible, without compromising the Singapore Armed Forces’ operational readiness, said MP Yeo Wan Ling in Parliament on Monday (Feb 27). She noted that in 2019, operationally ready NSmen were told that they would no longer have to notify the authorities when they travel abroad for less than half a year. She asked MINDEF to provide an update on whether a review is now timely.
