Enterprise Singapore needs to provide more assistance to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) so that they know how to measure emissions, as many buyers have started to ask SME suppliers to provide their carbon emissions data. MP Don Wee, who made this call in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 28), wanted to know what are the quantifiable aims of the Enterprise Sustainability Programme and how Enterprise Singapore promotes this programme to the 200,000 SMEs in Singapore. He also asked how more support can be provided to small accounting and audit practices which provide sustainability accounting or assurance services to SMEs.
