Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 3: Gerald Giam on access of persons with disabilities to SkillsFuture programmes

01:33 Min

Persons with disabilities (PWDs) need access to training and lifelong learning just as much as their able-bodied counterparts, but they sometimes face barriers to attending courses. MP Gerald Giam, who raised this concern in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 28), said that accessibility should be embedded in all SkillsFuture-funded courses. He urged the Ministry of Education to establish a disability support office to provide support to PWDs and training providers to implement reasonable accommodations for SkillsFuture courses.
