Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 3: Hany Soh on managing cyber addiction
More people staying at home during the circuit breaker period of the pandemic, more home-based learning through laptops and tablets for children and more companies supporting telecommuting and flexible work arrangements. These could mean the number of cyber addictions is likely on the rise as Singaporeans in general experienced longer screen time, said MP Hany Soh. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 28), she asked if any studies had been done recently on this possible trend. She also wanted to know what measures the Government is taking to counter cyber addiction, as well as raise awareness on the risk of cyber addiction and ways to prevent it.
