Public funding is being provided to local media organisations to enable them to better serve audiences in the digital age. With increasing competition for eyeballs online, what are the media organisations doing to capture the attention of news readers online to retain and grow their share of the pie? With the potential of harmful influences online, how are the organisations strengthening their capabilities to maintain readers’ trust, especially among younger demographics? These questions were raised by MP Jessica Tan in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 28).
