Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 3: Liang Eng Hwa on economic outlook and challenges
In Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 28), Speaker Tan Chuan-Jin dealt with the expenditure estimates for the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Following that, MP Liang Eng Hwa asked the Government for its assessment of the economy in 2022 and the outlook for 2023. He wanted to know how Singapore will navigate and respond in an increasingly complex and uncertain operating environment. Mr Liang stressed the importance of the Industry Transformation Maps (ITMs) as Singapore's main "playbook" to improve productivity and press on with innovation and internationalisation. He asked for an update on the progress of the ITMs.
