Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 4: Edward Chia on strengthening Singapore's climate resilience
The Government has taken the lead in advocating a climate-resilient Singapore with adaptation efforts, including protecting Singapore from rising sea levels which pose the most immediate threat, said MP Edward Chia in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 1). He raised several questions on the issue of Singapore’s climate resilience and wanted to know how the Government plans to ensure that infrastructure planning is able to meet the challenge of climate change. He also wanted to know how these infrastructure-related projects will be financed.
