Singapore is "riding straight into a perfect storm" with soaring food and energy prices, high interest rates, rising manpower costs and lack of manpower availability, said NMP Janet Ang in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 1). She wanted to know how the Ministry of Manpower is supporting businesses to address manpower shortages and manpower cost increases. She also asked what support businesses can get to attract Singaporeans to their industry or sector, especially for job roles at or higher than the S Pass and Employment Pass qualifying salary levels.
