Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 4: Poh Li San on water sustainability and supply resilience

01:49 Min

Singapore’s water treatment infrastructure and technologies have enabled the nation to move towards long-term water sustainability, said MP Poh Li San in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 1). With the COVID-19 pandemic delaying the timelines of various infrastructure projects, she wanted to know when PUB expects to complete Phase 2 of the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System project. She also asked for an update on the progress of the Tuas and Kranji water reclamation plants, whether more water treatment plants are planned and how such developments will improve Singapore’s water supply resilience. Ms Poh also asked about investments made by PUB in science and technology solutions to increase the energy efficiency of Singapore’s water treatment.
