Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 4: Raj Joshua Thomas on resilient and future-ready workforce

02:19 Min

As the Government looks into work-related issues ranging from stress and burnout to work-life harmony, Singapore can still maintain the resilience and competitiveness of its workforce and its productivity, said NMP Raj Joshua Thomas. At the same time, it has to be realistic in recognising that not all Singaporeans are or can become top global-level talent, he said in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 1). He asked the Government to elaborate on its plans to continue to attract top global talent to Singapore, as well as ensure that these talents are complementary to the country’s workforce. He also wanted to know how it can facilitate knowledge and skills transfer from foreign talent to Singaporeans.
