Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 5: Carrie Tan on communal and co-living housing
In communal and co-living housing, people can live together and share their resources and responsibilities while fostering mutual support. Singapore should explore this model for public housing for groups which need extra support, said MP Carrie Tan. Speaking in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 2), she also suggested making this option available to young adults so that they can live with groups with similar lifestyle preferences. She proposed piloting this model in the development at Paya Lebar when the air base moves out.
