Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 6: Joan Pereira on centralised platform for social assistance, ComLink and KidSTART
In Parliament on Friday (Mar 3), MP Joan Pereira asked for an update on centralising systems and processes among Government agencies and even external parties providing social assistance, so as to improve coordination, speed up delivery and reduce costs. With the ComLink programme about to be scaled up, she also wanted to know how recruitment of volunteer “befrienders” is going and what the main challenges are in attracting and retaining them. Finally, Ms Pereira asked about the KidSTART programme and how the authorities plan to get more family members to attend information and counselling sessions.
