Singapore has pledged not to leave anyone behind, and a competent and effective social service sector is crucial to fulfil this vision, said MP Joan Pereira. Speaking in Parliament on Friday (Mar 3), she wanted to know how the Government can attract good people to join the social service agencies (SSAs) and retain, support and empower them to excel. She also wanted to know how the Ministry of Social and Family Development can affirm the efforts and contributions of SSAs and support them to thrive. She said one way is to enable capable officers to progress to senior and top positions in the ministries and statutory boards.
