Singapore’s unique history and nation-building philosophy that have seen it jump from Third World to First in a generation, as well as its multiracial and multicultural society, may require it to take a deep dive into considering specific social interventions and approaches that will work in its context. Making the point in Parliament on Friday (Mar 3), MP Ng Ling Ling asked the following questions. How is the Government enabling more longitudinal and local research to understand what social interventions work and what do not, for different groups of underprivileged Singaporeans?
