Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 6: Sylvia Lim on manpower attrition in healthcare
Speaking on attrition in the healthcare workforce in Parliament on Friday (Mar 3), MP Sylvia Lim raised three issues. She wanted to know what measures are in place to retain experienced staff and if there are active plans to encourage experienced staff who had left the public healthcare system to come back. Regarding the National Wellness Committee for Junior Doctors set up in 2021, she asked if any recommendations from it have been implemented so far. She also asked if any concrete performance indicators are set by the Ministry of Health to measure the work-life balance of junior doctors and nurses.
