Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 6: Tan Yia Swam on regulating complementary health services

02:45 Min

In Parliament on Friday (Mar 3), NMP Tan Yia Swam called for the regulation of complementary health services and urged the Ministry of Health (MOH) to look into these services as “it is better to prevent problems than having to stress an already over-burdened healthcare system”. Noting the many complementary health services in the wellness industry, such as fitness and life coaches, Dr Tan pointed out that psychologists and counsellors are not registered under the Allied Health Professions Act and asked MOH to monitor for any reports of a missed diagnosis.
