Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 1: Hany Soh on continuous support for cost of living
In Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 28), MP Hany Soh highlighted that cost of living remains a top concern on Singaporeans’ minds and asked if the Committee Against Profiteering had uncovered instances of profiteering. On the topic of food affordability, she expressed concern over the ability of seniors to afford and access sufficient nourishment, whether at home or outside. She also wanted to know how else the Government can assist Singaporeans with household expenses such as from water and electricity consumption. She also asked how the Ministry of Finance will track the efficacy of the Budget’s objectives and assistance to its beneficiaries.
