Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 1: Leong Mun Wai on more detailed estimates and endowment funds
In Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 28), NMP Leong Mun Wai requested for more detailed information on the Ministry of Finance's revenue and expenditure estimates. He wanted to know the reason for the increase in the sum grouped as "other taxes", and asked why the ministry does not provide a breakdown of these taxes. He also wanted to know whether too much money was initially set aside when the Merdeka Generation Fund was set up and if so, what would happen to the excess funds.
