Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 3: Muhamad Faisal Abdul Manap on SPED school fees
More can be done to help middle-income families who have children with special needs, said MP Muhamad Faisal Abdul Manap in Parliament on Friday (Mar 1). He supported his fellow Workers’ Party MP Gerald Giam’s call for special education (SPED) school fees to be set at the same level as mainstream schools. Mr Faisal suggested that while this proposal is being considered, a tiered approach be taken to determine out-of-pocket expenses for qualifying families, similar to the Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children.
