Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 4: Rachel Ong on PWDs' access to SkillsFuture courses
As Singapore continues to equip its workforce with the skills needed for an evolving economy, it is crucial to ensure that persons with disabilities (PWDs) have equal access to skills upgrading opportunities to remain competitive, said MP Rachel Ong. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Mar 4), she wanted to know how the Government can collaborate with Continuing Education and Training centres to ensure that SkillsFuture courses under the newly introduced SkillsFuture Level-Up Programmes are accessible to PWDs. She stressed the need to ensure that PWDs are not left behind in the upskilling process and have the necessary support to thrive in a competitive job market.
