In Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 5), MP Muhamad Faisal Abdul Manap sought updates from the Ministry of Transport on his suggestion to consider building linkways at pedestrian crossings as part of Silver Zone features to further improve the safety of elderly Singaporeans when moving around the estate. With the increase in the use of personal mobility aids by the elderly and physically disabled, he also suggested that the Land Transport Authority (LTA) consider widening the pedestrian path at pedestrian crossing islands. He also wanted to know what is the most common feedback LTA has received regarding improvements to the Silver Zone features and what LTA has implemented in response to such feedback.
