In Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 5), NMP Ong Hua Han urged the Ministry of National Development (MND) to consider clearer and more direct financial support for persons with disabilities (PWDs) to cover improvement works in HDB flats. He also said that MND must take steps to design housing policies that are inclusive and accommodate PWDs, enabling them to live independently and fully participate in society. This includes ensuring that PWDs have access to housing options that are conveniently located near essential amenities. He also asked if MND would consider implementing enhanced proximity housing grants for PWDs purchasing a flat near their parents or siblings who provide essential caregiving support.
