04:46 Min

NMP Ong Hua Han said the success of the Sheltered Workshop-to-Work Programme is critical. In Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 6) he asked for more details of the programme which helps train and place persons with disabilities (PWDs) to take up open employment. He asked how many have entered the programme annually in the past three years and what skills and support have been given to them to transition into open employment settings. Mr Ong also wanted to know what additional measures are being considered to support parents looking after PWDs after they turn 18. He also asked that the means testing criteria be re-calibrated.
