Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 2: Don Wee on defence spending and sustainability
As Singapore celebrates SG60 this year and looks towards the next phase of nation-building, it must consider whether its defence spending is aligned with the challenges of tomorrow, said MP Don Wee. In parliament on Monday (Mar 3), he asked about projected spending in light of the Singapore Armed Forces’ (SAF) acquisition of high-end military capabilities. He also wanted an update on the SAF’s sustainability efforts and whether the military is on track to fulfil its commitments under the Singapore Green Plan 2030.
