Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 2: Rachel Ong on engaging Singaporeans on foreign policy

Global issues are becoming increasingly polarised and misinformation spreads quickly, with social media playing an ever larger role in shaping public perception. Making this point in parliament on Monday (Mar 3), MP Rachel Ong said many Singaporeans seek a clearer understanding of how Singapore’s foreign policy decisions are made, as well as a platform to express their views. She asked how the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is harnessing digital platforms to engage Singaporeans on foreign policy issues.
