Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 3: Louis Ng on banning smoking at windows and balconies
In parliament on Tuesday (Mar 4), MP Louis Ng repeated his call for the government to take action to protect the lives of Singaporeans from second-hand smoke, and urged the government to legislate and ban smoking at windows and balconies. He noted that based on the Global Burden of Disease 2019 study shared by the Ministry of Health, about one death every other day in Singapore is attributable to second-hand smoke.
