Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 4: Ang Wei Neng on train services in the west
While Singapore's train system has significantly improved in reliability and consistently achieved over one million mean kilometres between failure, breakdowns cannot be entirely ruled out, said MP Ang Wei Neng in parliament on Wednesday (Mar 5). He welcomed the upcoming Jurong Region Line (JRL) and also urged the Land Transport Authority to consider extending the JRL to connect with the Circle Line and the upcoming Cross Island Line as soon as possible, noting that this will not only provide alternative routes for commuters during disruptions but also improve connectivity and convenience for residents in the western region.
