Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 4: Gan Thiam Poh on inconsiderate public transport commuters
The behaviour of fellow commuters is a major contributor to passengers’ comfort on public transport. However, some commuters are inconsiderate - talking or playing music loudly, or littering in trains and stations. Making this point in parliament on Wednesday (Mar 5), MP Gan Thiam Poh asked what more can be done to discourage such behaviour and whether fines or other penalties can be introduced for recalcitrant offenders.
